The Bridge
I'm done with Season 1... kinda?
BUILDING IN PUBLIC
4/10/2026
Season 1 is done.
Ten cities. Ten episodes. A pilot, a Tokyo deep-dive, stops in New York, Chicago, Boston, Amsterdam, Dubai, São Paulo, San Diego, North Carolina and Virginia. A year of figuring out what this show actually is.
And now…a pause.
I still have plenty of ideas. I’m still curious. But I want the next city to be right, and I don't know what that city is yet.
That's an uncomfortable thing to admit publicly. There's a version of this post where I announce Season 2 with a trailer and a launch date and a city reveal. But that's not where I am. Where I am is: sitting with the question, letting it breathe, and trusting that the right answer will show up if I stop forcing it.
So instead of a new city, I'm publishing bridge episodes. Shorter. More reflective. Less produced. Threads from Season 1 that deserve more time… ideas that got one line in an episode but could fill an hour.
The first bridge episode asked: what did ten cities actually hand me? Not the stories I planned to tell. The ones I didn't see coming.
I'm also using this period to rebuild some of the infrastructure around the show. The website. The newsletter…which is coming, finally. A clearer sense of who ECW is for and what it's trying to do.
If you've been listening since Tokyo—thank you. You've been patient with a show that's been figuring itself out in public. That's not a bug. It's the whole point.
The next city is coming. I just don't know its name yet.
