What if every city was trying to tell you something?

Not through billboards or headlines—but through its rhythm, its people, its architecture, its silence.

EveryCity Whispers is a narrative podcast that listens to the unspoken messages cities send. Some shout ambition. Some hum nostalgia. Some seduce. Some warn.

We’re all shaped by where we live—even if we don’t notice it. But listening to what other cities are saying can break the echo chamber. It can spark creativity, empathy, and curiosity.

This isn’t a travel podcast. It’s a podcast for anyone who’s ever looked at a street in a different country and thought, “What would my life be like here?” It’s for the curious, the wanderers, the city dreamers—those who want to understand a place not as a tourist, but as if they lived there.

Each episode blends personal stories, cultural insight, and reflections on how place shapes identity. Inspired by Paul Graham’s Cities and Ambition, but with a twist: we don’t just chase ambition—we collect perspective.

It’s not about travel. It’s about translation.

ABOUT YOU
THE CONCEPT

Who’s behind the mic?

I’m Steven, a cultural explorer, startup (and corporate) survivor, and perpetual outsider. I’ve lived on five continents, called cities like Tokyo, Amsterdam, São Paulo, Dubai and New York home—and wandered through dozens more.

This podcast is my way of making sense of the places that shape me, and sharing the strange, beautiful, and sometimes absurd messages I’ve found along the way.

ABOUT ME

You are curious.

You're not just passing through—you're paying attention. Asking: what's really going on here?

You notice the small things—how people wait at lights, how the streets sound at night, what the buildings seem to say. You're full of more questions than answers, because you know there's always something beneath the surface.

EveryCity Whispers is for you—the quiet observer, the city dreamer, the one listening for what the world is really saying.

At first, I set out to create long-form, immersive, multi-sensory episodes—something like verbal essays that explore the whispers of each city with care, depth, and production value.

But early feedback—and honest reflection—showed me something: these episodes often raise more questions than they answer. And sometimes, one idea deserves more time to breathe.

So here’s how the show is structured—for now:

Each month, I’ll release one cornerstone episode, a cinematic, fully-produced chapter in the EveryCity Whispers journey.

Think: Episode 1.0: TOKYO, Episode 2.0: NEW YORK CITY—these are the “theatrical releases.”

In between, I’ll publish shorter mini-episodes—weekly if possible—where I explore one idea or thread from the main chapter.

For example: Episode 1.1: Tokyo’s Diversity and Non-Inclusivity.

These “echo episodes” are looser, more reflective, less produced, and designed to go deeper—not just wider.

This is the format for now. It may evolve. But I’m building it with you, and your feedback helps shape what it becomes. Thank you for being a part of this.
